Ancient Metallurgy Shop (Leap Motion)

This  is a university project that was created for the Cycladic Art Museum of Athens. It is  an interactive application based on the leap motion technology to educate people about the Cycladic Civilization, specifically of the island of Syros (Greece).  My team attempted to educate and promote our Cultural Heritage in an interactive and fun way. We focused on a simulation of a metalwork shop, found in an archaeological site of Kastri in Syros.

Mid-air Interaction with Map (Kinect)

It is  an interactive application based on the kinect technology of Microsoft, in which the user can interact with a map through mid-air gestures. Kinect is a device that can detect the user's movements , identify them and make the application interact with them. Gestures were created and tested with users in order to find out which one of them could help them  control an interactive map.

AR Application for deaf students

This is a project that was created in the Cyprus Interaction Lab of Cyprus University of Technology. In a school for deaf students, the teaching material used is the same as the one for normal hearing students. While this is not much of a problem since those students wear a hearing aid, they still cannot perform as well as they could have if some extra help was provided. Those students tend to have a lot of unknown words and the teacher can’t spend all the time in class, trying to explain every single one of them. This app will assist the students in the explanation of unknown words, without the teacher having to interrupt the class. The student will scan the unknown word from his textbook and receive an appropriate explanation from the app in a form of text, image, video or 3d object. This is a project that was created in the Cyprus Interaction Lab of Cyprus University of Technology.
